 Job Summary

Lead new deal underwriting process and help manage a portfolio of 10-20 existing borrower accounts
New Deal Underwritings
Lead deal diligence process including identifying all key risks
Review relevant deal documents / information provided in data room, by Company / Sponsor, and third party reports
Help to structure deal
Oversee internal approval process including ensuring accurate and timely completion of internal approval write-ups and leading deal merit discussion on internal approval calls
Manage legal aspect of deal process
Attend bank meetings when appropriate
Mentor junior resources on underwriting best practices
Portfolio Management for Existing Borrowers
Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in order to monitor borrower's financial performance trends and liquidity
Review quarterly compliance certificates to ensure they are being completed accurately by the borrower
Ensure proper maintenance of borrower credit files
Communicate with the borrower's CFO (or similar position) to get more qualitative updates on performance
Participate in annual or other interim lender update calls
Ensure accurate completion of internal quarterly, semi-annual and/or annual reviews
Ensure appropriate borrower risk rating
Mentor junior portfolio managers and provide best practices for sound portfolio management practices
Assist in ad hoc requests such as industry whitepapers, group presentations, etc.
Education, Experience & Skills 
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Economics from 4year institution
5-8 years  commercial banking with a strong commercial credit/lending experience
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills and proficient with financial statements
Experience with underwriting loan transactions
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with little supervision.
