Position Summary

The Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and resolving issues during our central data repository load and balancing process within the IT Data Management organization. This individual will participate in 24/7on call rotational support to ensure timely delivery of accurate information to the lines of business. This individual will work closely with IT team members for troubleshooting scheduling, loading and balancing issues. This individual will also develop solutions for use in troubleshooting and resolution, as well as have an opportunity to assist the IT staff in developing solutions for our lines of business.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Works as part of a team by providing 24/7on call rotational support that ensures the accuracy and timely delivery of data to our central data repository
  2. Troubleshoots and solves problems - identifies root cause of problem data and implements measures to correct and prevent future occurrences
  3. Performs development for use in troubleshooting and resolution, and for providing solutions to the lines of business
  4. Understands our businesses and ensures that there is synergy between our lines of business and technology

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • 5+ years of experience in working with database technologies such as Oracle
  • 5+ years of experience working with analytical data stores
  • 5+ years of experience in PL/SQL development
  • 5+ years of experience in the use of data integration tools such as Informatica
  • Basic knowledge of Unix and Unix shell scripting
  • Experience with scheduling tools such as Tidal
  • Experience with SQL editor tools such as Toad
  • Experience in data analysis
  • Exposure with Oracle SQL loader
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
  • Enthusiastic learner and devoted to customer service and quality control
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Willingness to learn new tools and technologies
  • Strong documentation skills using Microsoft toolset including Visio
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude
