Summer Intern Program duration: June 1 – August 7, 2026
Position: Summer Internship – Treasury, Portfolio Management
Location: NYC
This internship presents exposure to Webster Bank’s Treasury function, which is responsible for managing the bank’s balance sheet by overseeing asset and liability management, capital, funding, liquidity, and portfolio management. The Portfolio Management team is responsible for developing and implementing investment strategies to align the bank’s investment portfolio with strategic goals and the economic environment. The intern will be expected to meaningfully contribute to projects and tasks while working closely with teams across the bank including accounting, compliance, corporate responsibility, credit risk, internal audit, legal, operations, and tax. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Intern Responsibilities:
Assisting with trade execution
Assisting with monthly and quarterly reporting on the investment portfolio
Assisting with governance of other bank permissible investments
Assisting with risk management responsibilities
Assessing current economic and market trends and impact on portfolio strategy
Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements for Interns:
Current undergraduate rising Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited college or university who is pursuing a degree in related field and has an interest in the banking/financial services industry
Interest in economics, fixed income, and alternative assets
Resourceful, enthusiastic, organized, and proactive
Demonstrated high attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Collaborative and inclusive team player
Microsoft Office Proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Legally eligible to work in the U.S.

The estimated hourly range for this position is $21/hour USD to $23/hour USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
