Oversee the end-to-end operational lifecycle of syndicated loan transactions for an $80B+ financial institution. This role has responsibility for leading a high-performing team handling the most complex loans in the industry. Must ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and seamless coordination with internal and external stakeholders including agent banks, borrowers, and investors. Must have deep working knowledge of syndicated lending transactions, multiple complex loan subledgers and comprehensive understanding of the control environment.

What you will do

  • Attract, retain, develop and lead a team of professionals managing syndicated loan operations, including booking, servicing, and payoff processes.

  • Drive operational strategy in alignment with the bank’s commercial lending growth objectives.

  • Collaborate with LOB leadership team to enhance syndication capabilities and operational scalability.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of syndicated loans including origination support, funding, servicing, and secondary market activity.

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of loan transactions in compliance with credit agreements and regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee agent bank responsibilities when acting as lead arranger, including communication with syndicate participants.

  • Maintain strong controls to mitigate operational, credit, and reputational risks.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (e.g., OCC, FDIC, SOX) and internal policies.

  • Partner with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to address complex loan structures and documentation.

  • Champion automation and digital transformation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.

  • Lead system enhancements and integrations with loan servicing platforms (e.g., ACBS, Loan IQ).

  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to continuously improve operational performance.

  • Serve as a key liaison between front office, credit, legal, and finance teams.

  • Build strong relationships with agent banks, borrowers, and third-party service providers.

  • Provide operational insights and reporting to executive leadership and regulators.


Skills and Abilities

  • Deep understanding of syndicated loan structures, agency roles, and credit agreements.

  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex operational workflows.

  • Expertise in loan servicing systems (e.g., Loan IQ, ACBS) and data/reporting tools.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Familiarity with participations, and secondary loan trading.


Education Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred


Experience Qualifications

  • 10+ experience in commercial loan operations, with at least 5 years in syndicated lending required.

  • 3-4 years working with leveraged finance or middle market syndications required.

  • 3-4 years leading cross-functional initiatives required.

 

 The estimated salary range for this position is $175,000.00 to $250,000.00 USD annually. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
