The Senior Managing Director’s role at Webster Bank is to successfully manage and direct the team’s growth and profitability with a focus on relationship management, business generation, client retention and business development activities. In this position, the SMD is required to demonstrate strong business acumen and strategic insight when serving our clients. As a trusted advisor, utilizing their experience as well as areas of expertise that include extensive industry knowledge in various business specialties, the SMD should best be able to guide the client to the best banking services and products at Webster for the client. Additionally, this position will oversee all Managing Director relationship management, providing consultative advice on products and services to meet client needs and enhance banking relationships. The Senior Managing Director strategically develops/executes business plans that are consistent with the financial and market development goals of Webster Bank

Responsibilities:

  • Develop plans and strategies for the short term and long-term success of defined territory.
  • Manage the implementation and monitor marketing and strategic plans.
  • Establish goals for Units which if achieved would result in exceeding plans.
  • Assist team members in customer retention, new business and cross sell efforts.
  • Advise team members in the structure, pricing and terms and conditions of new and existing credit facilities.
  • Ensure loan quality and policy compliance in new and existing credit facilities.
  • Contribute to the identification and development of new Webster products and services.
  • Visit customers, prospects and centers of influence to promote Webster and assist team members in customer retention, new business development and cross sales.
  • Represent Webster in the "communities we serve" via active involvement in external activities

Education, Skills & Experience:

  • 15+ years of related experience in Commercial Banking or related activity with emphasis on lending and relationship management covering Suburban NY, Long Island, Queen's and West Chester.
  • BS required - Business, finance, related field
  • Strong general management, credit, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent financial analytical ability
  • Ability to negotiate and structure financing proposals

The estimated salary range for this position is $250,000.00 to $300,000.00. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
