The Senior Managing Director, Head of Digital Technology is the IT leader supporting business partners in Innovation, Digital, and Marketing Technology. He/she is responsible for effectively managing teams of Technology professionals and driving them toward producing solutions and managing systems which provide business value. With a customer centricity mindset, he/she partners with senior business leaders to jointly create a product and strategy roadmap that advances the business goals and creates maximum value. This role is also responsible for the Technical delivery of required initiatives throughout the lifecycle including Information Security considerations and Architecture (ATx) tollgates. In addition, he/she oversees the engineering and operations teams supporting services/delivery of the respective platforms and systems, which include CRM, digital banking, and Marketing Technology applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet business goals – Ensure products and solutions delivered by the team meet the economic business goals jointly established by the business and technology teams
- Customer Centricity and understanding customer needs – As the internal representative (Voice) of the customer, continually leverage market research and trends to be able to provide best customer value.
- Product Roadmap - Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders, and other teams to shape requirements, features and end products. Align IT Strategy and planning with application development and business roadmaps.
- Execution and delivery – Ensure quality and timely delivery of commitments as well as compliance with IT governance. Maintain accountability for solution service design, build and run.
- Prioritization and Resource Management - Make prioritization calls with a goal of ensuring the team remains focused on highest value add activities. Lead and mentor staff to improve skillset and career potential.
- Technical review - Review and approve design, technical, and/or operational specifications as well as design alternatives developed by teams.
- Productivity - Identify and initiate work process and tool improvements that lead to increased productivity.
- Goals and objectives - Define clear work goals in line with business goals and establish departmental priorities and expectations.
- Budget Management - Prepare annual department budget
- Stakeholder Management - Liaise with senior management and provide reports/updates related to department performance. As Product Manager for the Product, Marketing and Transformation team, run weekly sync meetings with leadership to confirm prioritization and lead progress of new initiatives.
Skills/Experience/Education
- Bachelor's Degree in directly related field required; advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of complex software development experience, at least 10 of which were in a supervisory capacity.
- Extensive knowledge of system development life cycle, client area’s functions, and systems and applications program development alternatives.
- Excellent communication, leadership, management, and analytical skills.
- Able to build successful relationships with all levels of staff and management.
- Experience in product management lifecycle, background in Agile framework.
- Capacity for strategic vision, creative thinking, and planning.
- Experience working with a wide variety of systems architectures (hardware, software, networking, and databases)
- Experience with a variety of databases (Oracle, SQL Server, and others)
- Exposure to a variety of web technologies (Java, JDBC, JSP, EJB, Unix, Oracle, Internet Protocol, HTML, JavaScript)
- Knowledge of networking protocols, firewall architectures, and security systems.
The estimated salary range for this position is $205,000 USD to $235,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
