The Senior Analyst, Sourcing will assist in the development and implementation of the strategic sourcing requirements best aligned to the goals of Webster Bank and the Corporate Services function. Deals with less complex contracts with limited spend and impact to the bank. Works with business unit managers throughout the bank ensuring best pricing and contract terms are achieved. Responsible for providing end-to-end sourcing services across various internal client groups and categories of goods and services, developing, and reducing risk within Webster. Build financial cases for supplier comparison and combining comparative data in support of the negotiation process, as well as conducting supplier research, industry analysis, and best practices. Assist with overall contract management processes. Negotiate with a proactive attitude providing excellent facilitation and customer service to line of business clients and the external community and serve as a liaison.

Key Responsibilities for this position

  • Oversee the contract management process

  • Assist with process improvement initiatives for strategic sourcing

  • Develop, maintain and provide reporting on sourcing key metrics that are utilized internally and externally

  • Apply the sourcing process to achieve cost containment, savings and/or avoidance

  • Guide internal clients through the strategic sourcing process for new and current suppliers and categories

  • Help facilitate the development and utilization of supplier management and eProcurement processes


Experience needed for this position.

  • Candidates with advanced degrees (Associates, Bachelor’s, and/or Master’s) preferred, yet a High School diploma or GED is required. Candidates with some combination of coursework and experience, or extensive related professional experience, are eligible for consideration.

  • Undergraduate degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Technical, Finance and/or Business required.

  • 3+ years of related experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing of Indirect Services, including, but not limited to, IT software and hardware, professional services, telecom, consulting and temp labor.

  • Demonstrated ability with contract negotiations

  •  knowledge of end-to-end Sourcing processes and methodologies

  • Proficient knowledge in the realm of data analysis and analytics

  • Proficiency in Excel

  • Experience with contract management systems, desirable

The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000USD to $85,000USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
