Successful candidate, for Government Banking Relationship Manager, will be responsible for managing existing government relationships in addition to developing, sourcing and securing new profitable banking relationships for our successful Government Banking Team.  Primary focus is on cities and towns, state government, school districts, water districts, public authorities and agencies in Connecticut.

Essential Job Responsibilities for Government Banking Relationship Manager:

  • Serves as primary strategic partner for assigned prospective and current public sector clients
  • Fully present, in-market, visiting with clients and prospects on a regular and frequent basis
  • Identifies client needs and corresponding sales opportunities bank-wide and actively promotes ways to increase appropriate client utilization of bank solutions; capitalizing on the unique and comprehensive capabilities of the bank
  • Proficiently manage existing portfolio and stays informed of developing trends in the public sector market
  • Actively works with clients to understand each customer's normal account activity and provide consultative solutions on an ongoing basis
  • Champion a culture of innovation and a client centric mindset
  • Achieves assigned annual goals for portfolio maintenance, portfolio growth, and new business development
  • Deliver thought leadership to the specialty market, prospects and clients at client meetings, industry conferences, webinars, and other professional media platforms
  • Collaborates on client credit needs and Treasury Management solutions as part of a cohesive team
  • Is involved in proposal writing and coordination with internal departments
  • Participates in departmental projects as they arise
  • Ensures job duties are performed within established policies, controls, risk, and protocols

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business or Finance
  • Experience with Government Banking or Public Sector industry
  • Successful and sustained sales and relationship management experience
  • Working knowledge of Treasury Management solutions; CTP designation a plus
  • Well-developed written communication and verbal presentation skills
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point and Sales Force
  • Emotional Intelligence, diplomacy and strong people skills
  • Possess resolute interpersonal character and integrity
  • Superior expertise in managing multiple tasks and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while executing flawlessly in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent problem resolution and organizational skills

The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 USD to $200,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
