Position Summary:
Oversee the management and implementation of external communications programs and activities including public relations, media relations, reputation management and thought leadership efforts for Webster and specifically, HSA Bank, a division of Webster Bank, which provides health savings accounts to individuals and employers nationally.

 

  1. Manage PR program and activities including media relations content creation for the company’s external communications.
  2. Work closely with C-suite leaders to build and expand their presence externally through media/external speaking engagements and with other stakeholders.
  3. Lead day-to-day account management, priorities and budget of external public relations agency to deliver initiatives on-time and on-budget. Manage, along with communications team members, account management and priorities of Webster external public relations firm and contractors. Lead efforts to identify and hire additional third-party vendors as necessary, such as media monitoring firms, additional agency support, etc.
  4. Create and manage thought leadership efforts including byline content creation, social media management/partnership and content creation.
  5. Manage and implement reputation management corporate program for Webster including award exploration and list development and award content development and submissions.
  6. Provide coordination and support on crisis communications and issues management, business continuity planning & counsel.
  7. Coordinate internally with line of business product/partnership efforts and marketing team on integrated projects.
  8. Support other corporate/financial communications on behalf of Webster’s holding company.
  9. Participate in market research and tracking activities.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7 – 10  years in a corporate communications environment; banking and healthcare experience is highly recommended.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to interface with senior management
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience in comprehensive strategic communications and media relations

 

The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 USD annually. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
