The Data Technology Risk and Controls colleague will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a risk and controls assessment process that meets Heightened Standards guidance. Additionally, as member of the Data Governance Office the colleague will be responsible for enforcing and monitoring data governance practices throughout the banks change management and SLDC practices. This crucial position serves as liaison for the Data Technology function and  LOBs to ensure the risk framework is followed.  

 

Roles and Responsibilities of the role:

  • Develop and manage the Heightened Standards assessment process for key/risk and reporting processes under guidance from Enterprise Risk.
  • Mentor and supervise a data technology team for the execution of assessments and DG adherence.
  • Using standard risk practices, develop a risk and controls assessment for the data technologies under the Data Technologies office.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and BAU of the Data Technologies Data Lineage tool in partnership with Enterprise Data Platform and Data Engineering team.
  • Cultivate a program for enforcing and monitoring data governance practices within the change management SLDC practices in partnership with lines of business data management function.
  • Assess the risk and suggest controls for the data technologies supported by the Data Technologies Office in accordance with the necessary framework.
  • Manage and execute book of work prioritized by data technology function aligned to the business strategy
  • Support data technology function in driving adoption of data ecosystem managed by data technology
  • Partner with IT function in ensuring data roadmap covers necessary book of work that improves controlled environment within data ecosystem and appropriately work with data technology leadership team to ensure execution reflects the plan.

Experience Needed for the role:

  • Advanced degree - Associates, Bachelors, Masters required.
  • Min. 8 yrs experience in IT or Data Management or Data Governance
  • Experience working in risk-based role preferred including identifying and reporting on risks.
  • 5+ years in managing a team
  • Ability to write clear, concise and unambiguous procedures and documentation
  • Experience in developing and executing program/project plans
  • Critical thinking skills and problem solving for challenges and blockers
  • Professional and concise communication skills
  • Data Management Certification is a plus but not required
  • Experience presenting to business functions outcome of critical metrics related to data risk controls and related statistics on a regular basis

The estimated salary range for this position is $160,000.00 to $190,000.00. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
