Manages the secondary marketing function to achieve profitable pricing and placement of originated mortgage and consumer loans to either the Bank portfolio or an outside investor.  Responsible for adherence to all regulatory, compliance and accounting standards related to loan pricing, purchases and sales.  Understands, builds and maintains processes and technology related to Secondary Marketing, while considering the requirements of other consumer lending processes that run before, after, or concurrent to the Secondary Marketing processes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage Mortgage and Consumer loan pricing and loan sales for Correspondent and Retail channels

  • Achieve required profitability targets for loan spreads, while striving to hit volume and competitive position goals

  • Manage pricing software configuration and vendor relationship (currently Optimal Blue)

  • Manage loan origination system functions pertaining to Secondary Marketing (currently Encompass and TPO Connect)

  • Oversee and provide data, calculations, reporting and analysis, including regulatory reporting, FASB and Fair Value/LOCOM

  • Develop and maintain policy and procedures via Webster’s How2Work platform

  • Understanding of and management to banking and mortgage regulations and standards

  • Grow and develop the Secondary Marketing team, cross training to ensure no disruption of critical processes due to PTO or departures

  • Collaborate with Product Administration team about product guidelines for loans to portfolio and loans for sale

  • Demonstrate collaborative, teamwork focused leadership approach among all departments

Specific skills and experience:

  • Candidates with advanced degrees (Associates, Bachelor’s, and/or Master’s) preferred, yet a High School diploma or GED is required.

  • Candidates with some combination of coursework and experience, or extensive related professional experience, are eligible for consideration.

  • In depth knowledge of Secondary Marketing, Mortgage Lending and Consumer Lending, including all applicable regulations and laws

  • Leadership experience of direct teams

  • Clear and professional communication and interaction with internal and external partners

  • Experienced in Encompass/Optimal Blue configuration

  • Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation)

  • Experience using Tableau or other reporting software

  • Experience hedging a mortgage pipeline preferred

  • In depth knowledge of product and underwriting guidelines preferred

  • Must be a results-oriented individual that performs well within a high stress environment.  Strong detail orientation and analytic skills required.

The estimated salary range for this position is $160,000.00 to $175,000.00 USD annually. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
