Position Summary

Responsible for fielding questions from Financial Centers/Call Center/Clients via phone/email, review overdrawn accounts, process corrective transactions, process check claims, decision exception items, status accounts, place holds in support of the Fraud & Loss Management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide phone coverage by responding to questions from internal and external customers; including check verifications, forced closed questions, removal of holds, status of accounts, forged check affidavits and other fraud related inquiries.
  2. Refer overdrawn accounts to investigative team based on assessment of account activity.
  3. Process corrective actions in more complex fraud cases involving risky and/or exception conditions.
  4. Ensure daily tasks are accomplished in a timely manner.
  5. Assist with processing of check claims.
  6. Process forced closed payments and forced close collections as needed.
  7. Input cases into internal database with accuracy and efficiency.
  8. Process restitution payments and close accounts for cause with referral to credit reporting agency.
  9. Handle placement of debt with 3rd party collection agency.
  10. Perform reconciliations on G/L accounts.

Education, Experience, Skills:

  • 3 + years of related bank experience.
  • Ability to work independently in a high-volume environment.
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting.
