POSITION SUMMARY

 

 

The Director of Digital Banking Acquisition will lead the delivery of digital acquisition experiences for consumer and small business lending products to achieve the strategic goals of the Webster Direct Bank. This role will partner with technology, lines of business, Experience Design and other cross-functional teams to map customer journeys, develop requirements and work with the development team to build and launch new experiences to internal colleagues and external customers.  

 

This role will partner across teams to identify requirements for digital account opening and application experiences that meet the needs of prospects, customers, and internal colleagues. She/he will lead the development and delivery of market competitive experiences as the Product Owner, leading agile ceremonies, refining requirements and prioritizing features in partnership with stakeholders. She/he will be the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the development team to answer questions, share progress, and discuss changes. She/he will own the launch to internal colleagues and external prospects/customers, preparing communications and developing trainings. She/he will also partner with the performance management team to identify objectives and key results and ensure proper digital analytic implementations to track performance.

 

This individual must have a passion for customer experiences, a track record of digital innovation and a deep knowledge of financial industry trends and technology. She/he must be a business-minded technologist, with a high attention to detail, and a strong ability to lead and influence cross functional teams. This is a highly-visible role, collaborating to build innovative digital experiences for an emerging business that will change the bank.  

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

  • Work collaboratively with the Direct Banking leadership team to understand the strategy and the digital experience pipeline that will enable the Direct Bank vision, while remaining connected to the greater Webster Bank strategy.
  • Define design requirements in collaboration with the Direct Bank leadership, Experience Design team and Solutions Architecture to delivery market competitive digital acquisition experiences. This includes understanding the current customer journey, key pain points, and performance goals.
  • Gain alignment from primary and extended stakeholders across the company with compelling articulation of how proposed recommendations enable Direct Bank strategy.
  • Act as Product Owner of new digital experience, partnering with Experience Design to develop journey maps, user stories, wireframes and other artifacts. Participate in all agile ceremonies, crafting acceptance criteria, running backlog refinement and conducting necessary testing.
  • Anticipate non-obvious risks to Direct Bank strategy implementation and propose recommendations to address these risks.
  • Maintain high awareness of FinTech capabilities that help provide exceptional customer experiences and digital trends in the Financial Services industry.
  • Be a prospect and customer advocate – champion consistent and seamless user experiences across all channels.
  • Partner with Analytics and Digital teams to understand end-to-end digital performance across traffic, engagement, conversion and account/customer quality metrics.

 

  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures and lead conversations with internal Privacy, Compliance and Legal for necessary approvals and guidance.

 

  • Adhere to necessary training and enterprise level engagement as needed.

 

 

EXPERIENCE

 

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in Digital, transformation, Scaled Agile Framework operations and designing digital experiences.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in financial services.
  • Experience as an agile Product Owner or other similar role
  • Experience shaping, and executing new digital experiences based on customer needs and internal strategy.
  • Prior experience managing through change, mergers, or acquisitions.

 

SPECIFIC JOB RELATED EDUCATION & SKILLS

 

  1. Candidates with advanced degrees (Associates, Bachelor’s, and/or Master’s), ideally in a technical discipline related to Business and Digital.
  2. Deep understanding of digital design and digital transformation within the Financial Services industry and with increased data regulation and privacy laws.
  3. SAFe Agile training and related experience
  4. Ability to connect to overall business strategy and design and execute on department strategy
  5. Strong communications, both verbally and written. Ability to influence others and establish/maintain collaborative relationships.
  6. Strong business orientation, track record of balancing risks versus rewards and maximizing the cost effectiveness and profitability for the business.
  7. Data driven and analytical, while also being a creative thinker.
  8. Ability to manage digital development projects end to end and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
