At Webster Bank, our financial intermediation activities are organized broadly around three distinct lines of business: the Consumer Bank, the Commercial Bank, and HSA Bank. This position will be aligned with the Commercial Bank, reporting into the Platforms and Solutions team within the Commercial Administration organization.

The Commercial Project Management Group will be a centralized team of professionals dedicated to supporting and overseeing the Commercial Bank's various projects across all departments. This group will comprise experienced individuals with expertise in project management methodologies, risk assessment, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.

The Director, Commercial Project Management will be primarily responsible for driving the maturity of the Commercial Bank’s project management. In this role, the Director will support the lifecycle of a large project portfolio, leading project-level reviews, identifying areas for improvement, reporting analyses, and developing talent. The project manager should not only be comfortable talking with senior business leaders about individual projects, but also help us define KPIs and define a roadmap for the Commercial Bank.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project management methodologies and best practices to build on the team’s skills and abilities.
  • Use metrics and data visualization effectively to report portfolio performance and support decision-making at the team or organizational level.
  • Be an integral member of the Commercial Administration team to drive key initiatives forward.
  • Contribute to the establishment of common practices, tools, and templates for project management, and ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Manage day-to-day project activities and establish clear documentation for each project.
  • Facilitate project reviews and checkpoint meetings.
  • Analyze key performance indicators to produce reports on projects.
  • Escalate issues that threaten project success.

Education, Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4 years of experience or more in the financial services industry or technology space is preferred; specifically, in a role managing multiple cross functional projects, paired with a strong understanding of change management and project management principles.
  • Control-minded, systems-oriented individual with exceptional organization skills and acute attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, inquisitive, and resourceful, focused on continuous improvement.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and contributes to an energetic and motivated team environment with a strong sense of urgency and work ethic.
  • Ability to collaborate and execute in a fast-paced, high demand, dynamic environment while balancing multiple initiatives, priorities, and projects.
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Familiarity with software/systems used in the end-to-end lending process (i.e., Fiserv Signature, Sageworks, Salesforce, PrecisionLender, etc.) is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 USD to $150,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
