We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Retention Analyst to help support our data retention and records management compliance objectives. This individual contributor role is responsible for performing day-to-day Data Retention operations and will report to the head of Enterprise Data Retention within the Corporate Strategy organization. This role will focus on growing expertise in the areas of data retention and records management while providing direct support to the business units.
Key responsibilities:
Provides Data Retention subject matter expertise to key stakeholders and assists in major Data Retention initiatives.
Partners with business units, Data Management, Privacy, IT, Information Security, Audit, vendors, and Legal as needed.
Act as informal lead as needed, promotes teamwork, and provides mentorship to less experienced staff.
Interface regularly with business data leaders and analysts and is able to clearly articulate controls and requirements.
Understands the differences and similarities involved with managing records in structured, unstructured, and physical data formats.
Able to leverage a Record Retention Schedule to identify the appropriate retention to apply to records.
Ability to analyze the data retention and records management requirements for a business process or technology, to be able to accomplish the retention lifecycle on a recurring basis.
Maintain metrics and reporting as needed.
Escalate related gaps and issues in a timely manner.
Skills/experience qualifications for the role:
High School diploma required, advanced degree preferred
2 -4 years experience working in a regulated environment.
Experience working with complex data and information
Ability to learn and apply banking regulations, privacy, and other relevant requirements to retention related decisions.
Ability to analyze complex data and information.
Perform business process analysis sufficient to identify and profile the data retention attributes and requirements for a business unit process, function, or technology.
Experience leveraging record retention schedules to determine the retention requirements for data.
Experience educating stakeholders and partners on complex data related concepts and initiatives.
Experience with managing records in SharePoint or other enterprise systems of record such as OpenText Documentum is a plus.
Certified Records Manager (CRM) or Information Governance Professional (IGP) a plus.
The estimated salary range for this position is $75,000USD to $85,000USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
