POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Credit & Compliance Associate for Webster Commercial Services researches, implements, and assists in the areas of banking regulations, contract law and internal policy & procedure. The position works closely with PFD staff on compliance procedures and verifies that compliance is taking place. The position works closely with SNB legal in overseeing contract documentation and is also a key contact for Payroll Finance with internal/external auditors.

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Core Job Responsibilities/Key Activities/Elements:

 

  1. Maintain Portfolio due diligence
    1. Updating credit files as required throughout the year; (FS/Insurance/Field Exam/Guarantor)
    2. Perform updated searches when required (OFAC, Lit & Lien, UCC, Secretary of State, Internet, etc.)
    3. Updating legal file with any amendments/notices/contracts.
  2. Credit approval process by assembling credit review packages (COM’s/Memos), gathering signatures as required by policy and ensuring final approval is entered into system of record.
  3. New Business compliance reviewing initial information received from prospect and providing a list of requirements need to move forward in the application process.
  4. Onboard new clients into the Commercial Service portfolio
    1. Filing SNB UCC-1 and confirm that it is the 1st (only) security interest.
    2. Ensure company is compliant with all state & federal reporting requirements (“Good Standing” certification; d/b/a cert’s)
    3. Prepare initial Credit File according to policy (FS/Field Exams/Applications/Due Diligence, etc.)
    4. Prepare initial Legal file according to policy (original signature contract, guaranty, etc.)
      1. Submit to Counsel for Legal review/approval as required by policy.
    5. Prepare and circulate internal communication(s) announcing the new client.
    6. Monitor post-closing requirements.
  5. Other:
    1. Initial contact for internal and external Audits.
    2. Prepare and maintain internal reports for management as required (New Business, Exam schedule, Renewals, Expirations, open compliance, credit or legal items)
  6. Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures.

 

EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in any of the following roles:

  • Paralegal
  • Bank compliance administrator
  • Office administrator
  • Loan closing administrator
