The Commercial Real Estate Appraisal Department is seeking to add a full-time Commercial Real Estate Analyst to support the real property collateral valuation process at Webster Bank. The Commercial Appraisal Department is responsible for ensuring safe and prudent lending practices associated with Webster’s commercial real estate portfolio. The Corporate Real Estate Analyst is responsible for supporting the Appraisal Department Manager and staff by providing analytical and operational support. The candidate will report to the Commercial Real Estate Appraisal Manager. The position may require some minimal travel.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gather data, conduct research, and perform analysis; use data metrics and key performance indicators in the analysis process
  • Complete and distribute scheduled and ad-hoc reporting while maintaining data integrity, where feasible
  • Solicit bids for appraisal/valuation services
  • Engage fee appraisers to complete appraisal/valuation assignments
  • Prepare compliance reviews as appropriate ensuring appraisals are prepared in compliance with regulatory requirements, professional appraisal standards and Webster’s commercial real estate appraisal policies and procedures
  • Assist with development and/or documenting of departmental procedures
  • Assist with internal and external audits as requested by Commercial Real Estate Appraisal Manager
  • Assist with ad hoc projects or analyses as requested by Commerical Real Estate Appraisal Manager
  • Act as a resource for associate appraisers and appraisal department staff
  • Periodically update vendor files for the approved appraiser lists
  • Process invoices, check status of invoices, assist with procurement requests
  • Respond to internal SOX audits and remediate identified issues and areas of non-compliance
  • Complete administrative tasks for the team including, but not limited to, mailing, ordering supplies, recording PTO

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Strong analytical, customer service, verbal and written communication skills required
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize in a face-paced environment a must
  • Experience in commercial real estate appraisal/valuation or appraisal review experience preferred but not required
  • Experience with appraisal management software (i.e. C360, RIMS, etc.) preferred
  • State certified general appraiser or provisional license in good standing preferred but not required
  • Computer savvy with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams
  • Must be a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to take initiative
  • Willingness to work hours required to meet irregular demands and deadlines
  • Ability to work on a team both in person and in a remote environment
