The Data Analyst for Commercial Product Management will be responsible for the collection, processing and analysis of data to provide insight and decision making.  The individual will be required to perform descriptive analytics which will examine what happened in the past: monthly revenue, volume, product access and use. These findings are to be provided in a manner that will allow the reader to easily spot trends and/or identify dependencies and patterns. This allows Product Management to take proactive actions to address business needs.

The individual should be adept in mining data from primary and secondary sources, then reorganizing the data in a format that can be easily read and interpreted. Data collected must be stored in a well-organized manner that can be easily accessible by others needing to use the information.   

The candidate must be able to articulate the findings from the analysis to turn information into something actionable through reports, dashboards, and/or presentations.

Responsibilities:

  • 50% -- Preparation and analysis of monthly volume and revenue metrics reports.  This will entail pulling the data, analyzing for reasonability and preparing rollup reports that are distributed monthly to management.  Provide quarterly data and graphs by product for use in preparation of Product Plans, stored in a central location. Assisting in the analysis of volume and revenue trends including attrition analysis, significant deviations, and pricing changes.  Forecast future month revenue based on the results of the analysis. Generate and analyze monthly reconcilement of key revenue totals on Account Analysis to the general ledger, including recapping adjustment entries, rebates, and charge offs. Assist with the development and validation of new management reports in data review tool to facilitate revenue tracking and volume trends from the various billing systems. Assist in the identification and implementation of billing automation opportunities and in the elimination of extraneous volume feeds in Account Analysis, prioritizing services where there is potential revenue leakage.
  • 15% -- Assist with team projects including, McKinsey Portfolio Navigator, E&Y Survey, Commercial Banking Price changes, and other projects that may require data gathering and centralized tracking
  • 15% -- Create and maintain centralized SharePoint repository of financial reports/metrics, competitive pricing, vendor payments/SOW’s, contracts, and other product documentation.
  • 15% -- Working with teams to create presentations from the data gathered.  Making presentation to managers, colleagues and external vendors.
  • 5% -- Other duties as assigned

Educations, Skills & Experience:

For this position, basic requirement is having worked with large data flows, had used the data to create statistical analysis and predictive models. Had worked with cross-functional teams to extra data, align the data based on the information being analyzed and collaborate on business goals.

SPECIFIC JOB RELATED EDUCATION & SKILLS

Candidates with advanced degrees (Associates, Bachelor’s, and/or Master’s) preferred, yet a High School diploma or GED is required.  Candidates with some combination of coursework and experience, or else extensive related professional experience, are eligible for consideration. In depth knowledge and understanding of Excel (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, Graphs). Working knowledge of other Microsoft business applications (PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.) Strong business and financial analytical skills to determine profitability, spend analysis, and business case analysis on new and existing products. Strong written and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations management, colleagues and industry related vendors. Ability to embrace and represent the bank on innovative initiatives in support of emerging client focused and differentiating solutions. Excellent organization and planning skills, inclusive of timely completion of tasks and frequent/proactive updates to partners on initiative status. Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI is a plus.

The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000 USD to $85,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
